Gertrude Press is pleased to announce the 2015 Poetry and Fiction Chapbook Contest winners.
Winner: Scott Beal - "The Octopus"
Scott Beal is the author of the full-length collection "Wait ‘Til You Have Real Problems" (Dzanc Books, 2014) and one previous chapbook, "Two Shakespearean Madwomen Vs. the Detroit Red Wings" (White Eagle Coffee Store Press, 1999). He teaches full-time in the Sweetland Center for Writing at the University of Michigan and serves as Dzanc Writer-in-Residence for Ann Arbor Open School. He curates and co-hosts the Skazat! monthly poetry series in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he lives with his two children.

Winner: Richard Natale - "In The Fall of Forty Four"
Richard Natale is a Los Angeles-based writer and journalist whose numerous short stories have appeared in such publications as Wilde Oats, Chelsea Station Magazine and the anthology Off the Rocks. His recent novel, "Cafe Eisenhower," received an honorable mention from the 2015 Rainbow Awards. Other fiction includes the novella "Junior Willis" and the YA adventure "The Golden City of Doubloon." Natale's new novel, "Love on the Jersey Shore," will be published by Bold Strokes Books in early 2016.
