Dear Amazing Readers-
Hello again from Switzerland, at least for part of the time. To complete the experience living here, my lady and I brought home this adorable Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, who has so far managed to relieve herself on every blanket we own. Sigh. But look at those eyes!
Now, Gertrude-related NEWS:
Kate Carroll de Gutes, our dapper CNF editor, is moving over to our Advisory Board and we will soon be bringing on a new CNF editor to take over. Stay tuned! Meanwhile, thank you, CNF submitters, for your patience during this transition - we are a little behind on our responses.
On a personal note, I'll be in New York in a few weeks to get an IPPY (so excited!) and then traveling to Virginia for my VCCA Fellowship AND the next GERTIE boxes be going out somewhere in between all of that, so it's busy times here, folks! Because we are busy with a teeny staff, we have decided that this year we will not be having a chapbook contest. I KNOW it is a sad announcement. I know. But we have to cut back in order to have the energy to continue getting reviews for the books we love, facilitating interviews with the people we love, and selecting the work we love, like what you will soon read in Issue 29!
In addition to amazing queer poetry, creative nonfiction, art, and fiction, this issue also includes an Artist Q&A with Stephen O'Donnell and Gigi Little, who are together in life and now also in art, and a Writer Chat between our poetry editor, Stephanie Glazier, and poet extraordinaire, Samiya Bashir. So let me stop rambling and let you get reading. . .
